He lives with a teenage mother who is 16 years old.

As he walks to the centre daily, he falls down severally as he is clumsy and weak.

She is a responsible girl, though very emotional. She easily cries when she can’t be understood.
She is in charge and is the class leader. She listens well and understands abit of English Now.

STACY AKINYI

Stacy is a 3 year old girl who lives with her grandmother in Manyatta slum.
Her mother is sickly at her husband’s home and no one was taking care of her.
She is a humble child who is loved by everyone. She rarely gets into trouble.
She is now active , reports the others mistakes , but selfish and fights back.

NGILU ATIENO

Ngilu is a 3 year old girl.
She lives with a single parent who is an orphan and young.
The mother does small scale business in the slum.
Ngilu does not look very healthy. She is a quiet girl and dull, but rarely gets into
Trouble. She was very unfriendly from the beginning but has improved a lot.
She is slow to react , but keen in what she does. She still wets herself and denies it.

GABRIEL ODHIAMBO

Gabriel is a 3 yr old boy.
He is a total orphan who lives with his old grandmother.
Gabriel is sickly and stays away from the centre for days. He is weak, but stubborn.
He eats a little and has frequent stomach problems.
He lives in Obunga slum. He was abandoned by his mother after his father’s death.
He has improved a lot health wise compared to when he came.
He responds in class and is scared of the swing.

SANDRA ACHIENG

Sandra is a 2 year old girl.
She lives with her single mother who is 18 years old.
Her mother dropped out of school in form 2 due to lack of school fees.
Sandra hated being in class for a while. She preferred hanging around the kitchen.
She has improved, goes to class and participates in extra ñ curricular activities.
She is healthy and eats well.
She is a very bold girl, will fight back when confronted.

He lives by drinking his head off and does not care about them.

She struggles, but could not manage to take Margaret to school.
She is a bright girl and very responsible. She participates well in class.
She mixes well and loves outdoor games.
She is lovely and obedient, but cries easily.
Hates writing, but listens to instructions. Margy is a dancer, dresses and behaves like a boy.

ALLAN ONYANGO

He is 2 and 8 months.
Allan is an orphan who lives with his mother in Obunga slum
He is abusive and uses a lot of foul language.
Allan is epileptic and has been neglected health wise.
He messes in his clothes and loiters in the compound as the others are doing other things.
He just hangs on teacher David’s clothes and calls him dad. Does not like class.

JOSEPHAT OTIENO

Josephat lives with his mother in Obunga slums
Mother is sickly and they are poor.
The father’s case is not clear, whether he is alive no one knows.
He is a quiet but cheeky boy and bullies the others silently.
He looks older than the age given. Due to poverty, school was not
A priority and was just at home, assisting the mother in brewing.

VINCENT OTIENO.

Vincent is a 4 year old boy.
He lives with a great grandmother who is 85 years old in Obunga slums.
Vincentís mother is a total orphan who dropped out of school at 16 years due to pregnancy. Due to poverty, she has not been able to support her children.
He is a very active and happy child. He hated school initially, but is cooperative now.
He eats well, works with the others averagely and is obedient.
He is active in class and very friendly. He loves dancing.

DERRICK OCHIENG

Derrick is a 2 year old boy.
He lives in Obunga slums with his teenage mother, who is also an orphan living with her grandmother.
Derrick has a twin brother at the centre.
He is cooperative, though does not like responsibility. He does not involve in taking care of the compound willingly.
He is healthy and feeds well.
He is the weaker one and more withdrawn.

ADRIAN OPIYO.

Adrian is a 2 year old boy.
He lives in Obunga slums with his 18 year old mother who is an orphan under the care of her 85 year old grandmother.
Adrian has a twin brother at the centre and they kind do everything the same. It’s not easy to tell him from his brother.
He is weak though and has to be coerced into doing things.
He is healthy and loves sleep.
He is the older one.
He talks and halts like he is running out of breath.

MERCY ADHAIMBO

Mercy is a 4 year old girl.
She lives with a 16 year old mother. She was married to a man who beat her so much.
She lives by fetching water for people for domestic purposes. Mercy is a strange child. She does not speak to other kids, neither does she mix, play or sit with them. She is a loner and sits by herself. She does not talk to adults to and only responds by nodding her head. But, she has a liking for the day security guard. During recess, she will go and sit by him and sometimes stands by the gate. She is quiet and hates responsibility too. She eats just fine though. Mercy is good in her class work and all she does.

He is 4 years old. Lives with mother in Obunga. Father, the only bread winner is sickly.
